ALchemy is a program of the sound card manufacturer Creative, which enables games that use EAX to run under Windows Vista, e.g. Angel of Darkness.
It is a so called Wrapper, that redirects the Output of EAX to the OpenAL interface instead of Direct3D, which has been removed from Windows Vista. At the moment only cards of the Sound Blaster X-Fi-Series are supported.
